Institutional advisory and governance

I have advised a family office and institutional clients on asset allocation, investment selection, and governance across public and private markets.

This has included:

  • portfolio allocation and manager selection advice
  • risk exposure assessment and restructuring of investment portfolios
  • governance and oversight frameworks for investment decision-making

I advised a Big 4 consultancy on a client selection strategy to reduce reputational risk. This involved international interviews and synthesis of qualitative and quantitative data, with findings presented to global senior leadership and used to refine internal selection processes.

As Chair of Trustees of the Snowdon Trust, I work with the CEO and board to improve governance processes, strengthen accountability, and support long-term financial sustainability.

Organisational leadership

I was most recently Chief Operating Officer of the Anthropocene Fixed Income Institute, where I led research, quantitative, and operational teams and contributed to organisational strategy.

My role included:

  • overseeing research production and analytical output
  • coordinating operational and research teams
  • engaging with institutional stakeholders and funders
  • supporting the development and delivery of research programmes

I solved complex operational challenges, such as developing an international tax and operational structure reconciling conflicting advice from legal, audit, and tax advisers to reduce the administrative burden while ensuring compliance across jurisdictions.

Managing assets through market cycles

I was Director of Alternative Assets at Prudential M&G, responsible for a £3bn allocation to hedge funds, private equity, infrastructure, and structured credit. My responsibilities included portfolio construction, manager selection, and the development of investment approaches to build resilience in anticipation of the financial crisis. Investments included a private equity secondaries fund, a distressed credit fund (fully held in cash in 2008), and trend following and high frequency equity trading funds. All showed strong performance from 2008 onwards.  I also engaged with senior internal and external stakeholders and investment committees.

Research, impact, and decision support systems

I have designed and implemented systems to support organisational decision-making and external engagement, including:

  • impact measurement frameworks (metrics, data collection, reporting systems) used to support strategy and fundraising
  • structured knowledge-sharing and training sessions across consulting and advisory contexts, translating technical material for mixed audiences

Knowledge transfer and capability building

Designed and delivered informal training and knowledge-sharing sessions as part of consulting work, translating academic research into practical frameworks. Taught complex financial concepts and investment strategies to mixed-experience audiences, building both understanding and critical thinking skills.
